Irthi Safeefah Chair

In this exquisite collection of chairs, Emirati designer Ghaya Bin Mesmar reimagines traditional Safeefah weaving by collaborating with Barcelona's Mermelada Estudio.

Combining the themes of privacy and protection, they designed a collection of chairs using palm fronds, inspired by the captivating images of 'Areesh' houses nestled in the desert. The Bidwa artisans from the Bidwa Social Development Program masterfully wove the upholstery of the chairs using a blend of old and new Safeefah weaving techniques.
